Lydia Perović has written long-form journalism, interviews and essays for  Canadian and American media since 2001, including The Wholenote, Opera Canada, The Globe and Mail, The Believer, The Awl, n + 1, Listen, Daily Xtra, Ms. Magazine blog, BookForum and Literary Mothers. She grew up in Montenegro in the former Yugoslavia, moved to Belgrade in 1992 for a BA in Journalism & Political Science, then to Nova Scotia in 1999 to complete her MA (Political Theory). She's lived in Toronto since 2005. Her first novel Incidental Music (Inanna Publications, 2012) was a Lambda Literary Foundation Award finalist for debut fiction. Her second work of fiction, novella All That Sang (Vehicule Press, 2016), won Montreal's Expozine Best Book Award 2016.
